Council discussing Hwy. 40 letter

The winter conditions on Highway 40. between Wallaceburg and Chatham will be discussed at the regular council meeting on Monday, March 3.

Wallaceburg Coun. Sheldon Parsons is bringing forward a notice of motion for council to endorse a letter to be sent by Mayor Randy Hope to the province, questioning the winter maintenance done on the highway.

Parsons said he’s heard concerns from various residents in the community that feel the miantenence has been inadequate.

Other items being dealt with at council:

– A list if tax sale write-offs from across the municipality will be discussed.

– Chatham Coun. Bob Myers will bring forward a motion to have the dressing rooms improved at Memorial Arena in Chatham.

– Staff is recommending that $100,000 in reserves be spent to fix the Jaycee Pool in Chatham.

– A RFP for the work associated with thhe design and build of a new Tecumseh Monument and Interpretive Plaza in Thamesville is up for discussion

– The recipients of the Mayor’s Heritage Preservation Awards will be recognized
