During a packed lunch hour at Chez Denise last week, the Sydenham Current caught up with a couple customers who gave us their thoughts about the restaurant.

Wallaceburg resident Glen Turner said he has been coming regularly for three years.

“It is one of the few places I eat anymore in Chatham-Kent,” he said. “Everything is always incredibly fresh, made from scratch, the soups are to die for, the sandwiches are incredible.”

Turner said there is one sandwich in particular that stands out on the menu.

“I grew up in Ottawa and I hadn’t had a good Reuben sandwich since I left the Ottawa-Montreal deli scene 35 years ago and her Reubens are beyond compare,” Turner said. The desserts, I stay away from them because they are so good. Great atmosphere. Wonderful networking place, great people and not bad coffee too.”

Blenheim resident Terry McConnell travels all the way for Wallaceburg, strictly for Chez Denise’s food.

“As far as I’m concerned, Chez Denise has some of the best food around,” he said. “It’s always good, it’s always fresh and the people are wonderful.”

McConnell said it is tough to pick his favourite dish at the restaurant.

“Any of the pastas, any of the spaghetti, the meat dishes… everything, it’s hard to pick one out, everything is good.”

Give Chez Denise a ‘Like’ on Facebook, and come in to help them celebrate five years in the community all week at their 153 Nelson Street location in Wallaceburg.
