Yesterday morning, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received information that a pickup truck was pulling a trailer towards Wallaceburg that appeared to be overloaded and in a dangerous condition with an insecure load.

Officers located the truck and initiated a traffic stop just outside of Wallaceburg.

The driver advised that he was hauling scrap metal on the trailer to be recycled.

The scrap metal was not properly secured to the trailer and the trailer was found to be grossly overweight.

The trailer load of scrap was off loaded onto a flatbed tow truck.

The 49-year-old Blenheim man was charged with driving with an insecure load and having a load that was overweight contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
