Environment Canada says severe thunderstorms possible

Environment Canada officials say severe thunderstorm conditions possible – late afternoon to late evening today (April 29) as a severe thunderstorm watch has been issued.

The watch was issued at 5:22 p.m.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail, officials say.

Strong thunderstorms are expected to affect portions of southwestern Ontario this evening.

The severe weather threat should diminish late this evening.

Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.

Be prepared for severe weather.

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.
