An annual spring staple in the Wallaceburg community is shifting over to the summer.

The fair, put on each year by Carter Shows, is going to be held the first weekend in August, as opposed to the traditional weekend in May.

The Carter Shows website states the Wallaceburg event will be held August 1 to August 3.

Some features of the event will be vendors, entertainment, wrestling show, tractor show, karaoke and more.

Carter Shows always feature an assortment of rides for kids of all ages: from the “Tilt-A-Whirl” to the “Mini Tea Cups”.

The fair is set to be held at 62 McNaughton Ave., which is the same location as past years in the parking lot near McNaughton Family Dental and the former Sobey’s grocery store.

We’re waiting to hear back from Carter Shows officials to learn why the move was made.

The group is in Ajax this coming weekend.

The event was held May 2 to May 5 last year in Wallaceburg.

Before Carter Shows comes to Wallaceburg this summer, they will have their rides and games set up July 25 to July 27 for the annual Dresden Exhibition.
