Ontario election set for June 12

Ontario will officially be going to the polls on June 12.

The date has been set after Premier Kathleen Wynne met with Lieutenant-Governor David Onley to request the dissolution of parliament.

Earlier in the day, NDP leader Andrea Horwath said she would not be supporting the Liberal budget that was released yesterday.

Locally in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, MPP Monte McNaughton of the Conservative Party said he was disappointed with the Liberals proposed budget, but it prepared for an election.

Representing the Liberal Part in LKM is Mike Radan.

Radan is a small business owner in the Strathroy area who says he “is committed to economic development, creating jobs, growing the economy, maintaining the rural way of life, and seeing our young people thrive in our communities.”

There has been no official word on who is representing the NDP’s locally. The candidate in 2012, was long-time NDP supporter and candidate Joe Hill.
