William C. ‘Bill’ Soppet, a resident of Sombra, passed away peacefully at the Chatham Hospital on Monday, May 12, 2014 at the age of 85.
Bill is the son of the late William & Violet (Munkley) Soppet.
Beloved husband of Noreen M. (Goulin) Soppet.
Loving father of Shirley Atkinson (Soppet) and David Soppet of London.
Dear grandfather of Jason, Aaron, Tara, Neal and Erin and great grandfather of Tyler, Trista, Taya, Liam, Chloe, Ben and Bert.
Brother of Jean Williams. Uncle of Carol and Graham Williams.
Bill is a retired steam fitter who worked in the Sarnia area for many years.
He enjoyed his retirement years watching the ships pass in front of his home on the St. Clair River.
His sense of humour and gentle ways will be sadly missed.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from noon until 1 PM on Thursday, May 15 with the funeral to follow at 1 PM.
Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Sombra.
