BLOMMERS: Marie Louise (nee Havens)
A resident of Chatham and formerly of Thamesville, Marie Blommers passed away at Meadow Park Nursing Home, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the age of 80.
Born in Merlin, Marie was the daughter of the late Albert and Irma (Beun) Havens.
Beloved wife of 57 years to Henry John Blommers.
Loving mother of Ronald Blommers (Beth) and Brenda Laird (Phil) all of Chatham. Proud grandmother of Matthew Laird (Alyssum) of Chatham, Jessica Martin (Ben) of Beamsville, Marley Blommers and Hunter Blommers, both of Chatham.
Great-grandmother to Hope Martin and Grant Laird.
Survived by three sisters, Cecile Bossy (Rene), Christine Pinsonneault (friend Don McGregor) and Magda Ward (Ted), all of Chatham; two brothers Ron Havens (Linda) and Don Havens, all of Florence.
Predeceased by her brother Gilbert Havens (March, 2014).
Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014 with Fr. Daniel Bombardier officiating.
Cremation to follow with a private family interment at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham to take place at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Marie to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
