Council approved staff recommendations to enter into an agreement with a new transit operator.
CitiLinx Transit Incorporated was awarded the contract at a cost of $4,050,083.18.
The contract length runs from July of this year to June 2021.
Due to the delay in the RFP process, Chatham Radio Cabs will continue handling the service until October, the give CitiLinx time to prepare their new buses.
The deal will include the existing routes:
A – Chatham to Dresden to Wallaceburg
B – Chatham to Thamesville to Bothwell (not implemented)
C – Blenheim to Chatham to Ridgetown
D – Buxton to Chatham to Dealtown to Merlin to Tilbury
Seasonal S1 – Chatham to Erieau to Mitchell’s Bay
Stephen Jahns, manager of infrastructure and transportation, said the Municipality could opt out of the contract if necessary.
