Rising electricity cost discussion requested

light switch

Wallaceburg Coun. Jeff Wesley is requesting that Entegrus come in to council and make a presentation about rising electricity prices.

Wesley said he spoke with a long-time Wallaceburg business owner who saw their electricity bills rise from $69,000 a year to $130,000 in about a five year span.

Wesley said he wants Entegrus to present about the cost increases and what their forecast is for electricity in the short and long terms, as well as their plans to have competitive pricing in comparison to other local communities, along with Michigan and Ohio.

Wesley entered the request as a notice of motion, and it will be debated at the June 23 council meeting.

  1. Perhaps if they dropped down the head honchos salary to what they deserved would be a start and the amount of perks, and luncheons and giveaways, together would make a difference. There are too many cooks and not enough poor people to keep up.
