Despite two unsuccessful runs for council, Chatham resident John Willatt is making a run to become Chatham-Kent’s next mayor.

Willatt, who is 63 years old, is the former owner of Ace Taxi, which operated in Wallaceburg for a number of years.

He still runs his company in Chatham.

In the above interview, Willatt describes some of his plans if elected mayor including two specific plans for the Wallaceburg community.

Willatt, along with Marjorie Crew and Reno Lachapelle are the three people who have filed their papers for the position of mayor for the upcoming election.

Incumbent Mayor Randy Hope said he intends to seek a third term, while former candidate Ian McLarty has stated he intends to run once again as well.

Election day is Oct. 27.
