The annual Terry Fox Runs for cancer research will be taking place across the country on Sunday, Sept. 14.

The Dresden community will be joining in once again as well.

The start/finish will once again be stationed at the Dresden Legion Branch 113,
on St. George Street. Registration and running can take place anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

There is a free barbecue for all participants, who are encouraged to walk, run or bike.

Wagons and strollers are welcome as well.

Cindy Brewer, the organizer for the event, said they are looking for any cancer survivors who would be interested in taking part.

“We would be honoured to have you attend our Dresden Terry Fox Run as part of Terry’s Team,” she said. “Please go to terryfox.org and join Terry’s team or send a message through our Facebook page ‘Terry Fox Run 2014 – Dresden’ for more information. We would love see a sea of red for Terry’s Team shirts this year.”

Brewer added their new “Terry Fox Lives Here” flag is now flying at Dresden’s Municipal Building.

“The Flag was donated by Mike Veenema, one of Dresden’s Terry’s Team Mates and strong supporter of the Dresden run,” she said.

For anyone that cannot make it on Sunday, they have the option to do a run the night before with the Saturday Night Before Club. The registration and run starts at 7 p.m. from the Legion. Participants will take part in a an unmarked casual route.

Pledge forms are available at McKellars Flowers or people can collect pledges online at terryfox.org.
