Watch out for deer

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind all drivers that October is a month for when the risk of collision with an animal, mainly deer, is high.

Collisions with wild animals can result in serious vehicle damage, personal injury or even death.

Reduce your collision risk by slowing down and taking extra precautions while driving, especially during dusk or dawn when most wildlife collisions occur as visibility is greatly reduced.

Swerving to avoid hitting a wild animal may result in a more serious collision.

If hitting a wild animal is unavoidable, remember to try and stay in control.
