Wallaceburg woman on lockdown in Ottawa

Wallaceburg’s Brittany Fish, who is now a lawyer in Ottawa, is on lockdown in her office building after the shootings this morning in Ottawa.

“I am standing at the window watching it all right now,” Fish told the Sydenham Current.

“I went down for coffee and someone yelled there were shots fired, then all of a sudden security came over the announcement and said we were on lockdown.”

Fish said said their building is on lockdown on our floors waiting until the shooter is found.

“I took those pictures from my floor,” she said. “You could see the police rushing people away from Parliament. There are police running around with guns everywhere. Very sad.”

Fish added: “They are evacuating the streets now. Police are coming into my building to say stay inside. Looks like they have all their automatic weapons – coworker said her husband lives in Gatineau, closed the bridge and checking cars.”

More to come.

Here are some photos Fish took from her building:

  1. really, if we were in the States no one would be looking out of a window!! These type of crazy gunmen are known to have guns that have scopes on them. If this ever happens again I think you should maybe stay away from a window, just a strong suggestion. Glad you are OK, but I really think Canada needs to smarten up a little bit. Canada has already been warned about a terrost attack, then some one with a loaded gun can walk through the doors and start firing, 50 feet away from the Prime Minister. I really have faith in this Country’s security!! Sad Joke.
