Sarnia Police Service, Sarnia Fire Services and EMS responded to reports of an explosion at 449 Scott Road today at 2:41 pm.
On arrival at Veolia ES Canada Industrial Services, emergency services personnel were confronted with an active fire and injuries.
Five persons were transported to Bluewater Health in Sarnia with injuries. One person was subsequently air-lifted to London.
Sarnia Fire Services brought the fire under control quickly and investigators from the Ministry of Labour and Sarnia Police Services are currently on scene conducting the initial investigation into the cause of the fire.
