“Mary”, Margje Neeltje Van Roon of Wallaceburg

1490476_profile_picVan Roon, “Mary”, Margje Neeltje Van Roon passed away at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance in Chatham on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in her 85th year.

Mary was born in South Holland, moving to Canada in 1947 with her parents, the late Nickolas and Macheltje Van Roon.

She is survived by her sister Nellie Uitvlugt of Ridgetown and sister-in-law Linda Van Roon of Chatham, predeceased by her brother Marinus Van Roon and brother-in-law Jim Uitvlugt.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mary was a long time employee of Waltec in Wallaceburg, commuting from Petrolia before moving to Wallaceburg where she resided most of her life.

Mary was an avid gardener and enjoyed her time knitting.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Interment of ashes will be in Hillsdale Cemetery, in Petrolia at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society may be left at the funeral home.

As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in Memory of Mary Van Roon.
