If you’re looking to go fishing this weekend, or anytime this summer, make sure to stop by Ed’s Bait in Wallaceburg before you do.

Dave McCready, owner of the Wallaceburg shop, said they have many LIVE bait options and some in-house products as well.

“Emerald shiners, all caught within St.Clair River and Lake Huron for the most part. Some come from Lake Erie, some come from the Simcoe area but for the most part, St.Clair River and Lake Huron,” Dave said.

“Worms are farm raised in Pain Court. We try to go local as much as we can.”

Dave said they carry three or four companies that are Canadian and made in Ontario, including – Anglers Choice .

“This is our separate company that we make in house in Wallaceburg. We also wholesale to other stores but we carry a good selection of our own products here,” he said.

“We carry Bass Magnet which is out of the Belleville area. We carry their tubes and drop shot baits as well. We’ve got Set The Hook plastics as well… they are made in the Toronto area, all hand poured as well from a Canadian company.”

Dave added: “Other than that we carry some Burkely stuff, some Strike King plastics and we have Omoto stuff that are pretty much staples.”

Dave said if anyone ever has any questions, either himself or his wife
Shanah will be able to help.

“We are both out as often as we can to fish the stuff we sell,” Dave said.
