An amateur theatre group is looking to form in Wallaceburg in the near future.

Myrna Jewell is spearheading the initiative, with hopes to bring some more usage and dollars to the Wallaceburg and District Museum.

“To help raise funds for the Wallaceburg Museum and have a little fun too,” Jewell told the Sydenham Current.

“I hate to see the lovely stage at the Museum going to waste, so I thought I would start something up.”

Jewell said she hopes to not only do plays for fundraising, but any kind of shows.

“As well as working on history skits to teach children history, while making it fun.”

An information session is taking place at the Museum on Tuesday, June 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“Like a drop in session, so anyone who wants to come along can do so at any time during those hours,” Jewell said.

“Everyone is very welcome and we are looking for all types of people to help including actors, set designers, costume makers.”

If anyone has any questions, they can call the Museum at 519-627-8962 or e-mail Jewell at myrnaandholly@gmail.com.
