Ed’s Bait in Wallaceburg has a wide-selection of local gear and bait available at their Wallaceburg location.

“We stock a decent selection, once the season gets rolling, of Water Wolf lures,” said Dave McCready, owner of the Wallaceburg shop. “The season starts the first Saturday of June until mid December.”

Dave added: “We stock a decent selection plastics from Water Wolf lures which are all hand dipped out of Belleville, hand dipped, painted and assembled out of there. Handlebars, in line flash spinners, they are manufactured out of Chatham actually. A good friend of mine Mike Parker makes them.”

Dave said they have also got some CL Fishing baits out of Strathroy.

“We have got Dog River Lodge Lures, St.Clair Hounds in stock as well and they are out of Belle River area. A lot of what I try to carry is all home grown, as much Canadian as I can get. As local as I can get it, as long as it’s something manufactured in Ontario its big on my radar. A lot of these guys are able to pattern their colours and their profile to what we fish in this area.”

Dave said the “Led Zeppelin’s for Walleye fishing” are made in Lighthouse Cove as well as their harnesses are made in Lighthouse Cove.

“I’ve got just generic harnesses that are made out of Windsor. I’ve got the Miltz Brand which is made out of up in the Sarnia area. I try to carry as much as I can local.”
