Along with a new date, the Thamesville Threshing Festival is holding a new featured meal during the annual event as well.

A perch fish fry hosted by the Dresden Kinsmen will be held on July 4th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“We have typically hosted roasted chickens in the past but because of the date change that is the reason for the fish fry,” said Kristy Metcalfe, advertising chair with Threshing Fest.

“They are typically known in the Dresden area for their fish fry’s. The meal itself includes coleslaw, beans, fish and chips.”

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children five-12, four and under are free.

“Advanced tickets are recommended as there are limited quantities,: Kristy said. “Tickets can be purchased at McKellars in Dresden, Thamesville Home Hardware or by calling Don at 519-809-1236.”

During the fish fry there will also be a pie auction being held, starting at 5 p.m..

“This year we are going to focus on specialty pies,” Kristy said.

“Typically we will get a lot of businesses that will support this event. They raise a lot of money and the proceeds go back into next years festival. It’s a nice event because we use a professional auctioneer. It provides a source of entertainment for those that are sitting and eating.”

In terms of music, Dresden’s Jacklyn Wills will be performing.

“She is starting to get into performing on stage and so we are going to have her perform directly before the pie auction.
