Fast moving river brings debris – See Photos

Along with the rain and rising water, the Sydenham River is sporting some fresh debris as well.

The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) issued a flood watch late Saturday night for the river and its tributaries.

“Watercourses are experiencing near bank full conditions as rain continues to drain through the watershed,” SCRCA officials stated. “Water levels in all areas of the watershed are expected to remain high with swift flowing water throughout the weekend.”

SCRCA officials said this watch will remain in effect until Monday, June 27 unless otherwise updated.

“Additional bulletins will be issued should conditions change.”

Entire trees, branches and other debris could be spotted floating down the Sydenham in Wallaceburg on Sunday evening.
