The 140th Dresden Exhibition is taking place this upcoming weekend, and the Sydenham Current is going to fill you in all week long with all of the details.

Alicia VanEsse, an executive member with the Dresden Agricultural Society, told the Sydenham Current about all of the fun activities planned for the kids.

“Friday we start with the parade at 6 p.m. You will expect local companies, the Presidents, the new Ambassador with all the runner ups, the 4H Clubs in the area and other different neat things like that. Everything that Dresden has to offer which includes the little Shriners and things like that too,” VanEsse said.

“After the parade everything opens up into the arena for the opening ceremonies where the Ambassador will officially get crowed and speeches will be given. After that is the tractor pull.”

VanEsse said there is a Baby Contest on Saturday.

“Registration is at 1 p.m. and the contest starts at 1:30 p.m. You can expect many different categories that you can register your baby in. It has been know to be the biggest baby show in local the fairs. Lots of people come from all over. People receive gifts, prizes and certificates. It’s pretty neat to see.”

On Saturday as well there is the Teddy Bear Buddies Contest, VanEsse said.

“There are many teddy bears that come out whether they are made or just your best pal. It is kind of neat to see people take their time and effort into dressing them up or just making them themselves. 10:30 a.m. is the registration and the contest starts at 11 a.m.”
