The Wallaceburg Senior Citizens Club in partnership with the Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO) is holding a senior fair at the Dresden Arena.

The free event, which is sponsored by the Ontario Seniors’ Secretariat, will be held on Friday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cheryl Burrage, the coordinator at the Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre, said this is the second year she has held the fair in Dresden.

“The fair is open to the public, anyone who is interested,” Cheryl said. “So that is seniors but not just seniors. Everybody who wants to know what is coming up as you approach your senior years, if you are a caretaker, or are going to be a caretaker of a senior. It’s about things you may want to help your parents or grandparents with.”

Cheryl said there will be lots and lots of information available.

“I think we have about 38 booths that will be set up,” she said.

“There is all kinds of information in regards to possibly looking for a place to retire, so there are some difference residences. We also have different support booths so that you can get information if you have epilepsy or hearing issues, etc. There is just so much information. Some of it is about exercise that is good for you. It is a really well rounded venue.”
