Homemade sword used in Coatsworth altercation

Yesterday morning, police responded to a neighbour dispute in Coatsworth.

Two men were arguing as one of the families’ dog was eating the others’ cat food outside.

The verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation.

A main entrance front door window was smashed and one of the men sustained injuries as a result of being assaulted with a homemade sword.

The injured man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance where he was treated and released.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with uttering threats and being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

A 43-year-old man has been charged with uttering threats and mischief under $5,000.

Both men have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
