Winter is here… time to buy a lottery ticket

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m not a big fan of winter, snow and cold.

And… I grew up in Ottawa, on downhill and cross-country skis, skating on the Rideau Canal, playing outdoor hockey, building snow forts and tobogganing… loved it then.

Nowadays, I look back on those things with… well…shall we say “dismay? 🙂

But… it’s the little things about the season that bug me the most.

Sure, I hate shovelling snow, having to buy winter clothes and all that crap, but… the little things.

Grrrrrrr!

Like (since I don’t have a garage)… brushing snow and scraping the car, every time it snows.

Like, cleaning up the snow and mud just inside the door when I come home.

Like, the puddle that builds up inside the car, which always has a few leaves thrown in at this time of year, and ruins the carpet, and rots the floor.

Like, having to walk carefully to avoid hitting the ground because of the ice underfoot.

Like, the way some people drive when it snows… grrrrr!

Like, having to wait for the car to warm up! If it’s a short trip, sometimes it’s still cold when I stop!

The worst one, though, is having to deal with the idiots who don’t have enough sense to clean the snow off their tail-lights after a snowfall.

Wow.

I’m just driving along; suddenly I realize that the guy/girl in front of me has hit the brakes… but I can’t see the red lights!

A confession… I have a silly desire to win a big lottery prize.

I’d use the winnings to buy two properties in the Caribbean on two different islands, and I’d jet back and forth between those places… (probably Aruba and Jamaica) from early November until late March.

Then, back here, after avoiding “winter, snow and cold”, to enjoy our wonderful summers.

Anyone want to share a lottery ticket? 🙂
