Update: Arrest made after Cedar Springs blaze

The Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a 24-year-old Chatham man in regards to a suspicious fire in Cedar Springs yesterday.

As previous released, on March 9th, 2016 around 2:30 a.m. emergency crews responded to a residential fire in Cedar Springs. The building was evacuated as the fire department extinguished the blaze.

Through investigation, police learned that seven of the eight units were currently occupied.

Luckily, no one was injured.

Damage is estimated to be at $80,000.

The office of the Ontario Fire Marshall attended the scene.

Police have arrested a 24-year old Chatham man who has been charged with arson endangering life, arson damage to property and break and enter.

He was released with conditions pending a future court date.
