Be safe and responsible this St. Patrick’s Day

With St. Patrick’s Day today the Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to offer some safety tips for those of you celebrating this holiday.

It is important you predetermine a safe way to get home, select a designated driver or arrange for a cab to get you home safely.

If you feel impaired please don’t get behind a wheel.

Impaired driving is drunk driving; even if you feel like you are ok a breathalyzer might not concur with that.

Please do not operate a motor vehicle if you have been drinking.

If you are the designated driver please be extra cautious on the roadways.

Just because you are doing the safe and sober thing, doesn’t mean others will follow your lead.

Officers will be conducting spot checks throughout the day.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day.
