Boil water advisory in Dresden

IMGP5056

A boil water advisory is set to be in effect in Dresden on Wednesday, May 25.

The advisory is for residents living on a portion of Livingston and North Street in Dresden.

The reason for the advisory is due to a planned water main replacement.

Chatham-Kent officials say the advisory measure is in place until the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit receives good results from two consecutive sets of samples taken a minimum of 24 hours apart.

The Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Colby, is advising residents to bring the water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes e.g. drinking, making infant formula and juice, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice.

Pre-recorded updates can be obtained by calling 519-436-3250.

A new update will be made available on Wednesday, May 25 at 12 p.m.
