Child pornography charges laid in Sarnia

A 20-year-old Sarnia man faces child pornography charges after an investigation that began in April.

Sarnia police say on April 13, 2016 the Sarnia Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Investigation Unit entered in an investigation regarding suspected child pornography being shared by a Sarnia resident via the internet.

As part of a province wide Provincial Strategy Takedown, a warrant was executed on April 26, 2016 at a residence in Sarnia where a computer was seized as evidence.

On May 13, 2016 a 20 year old Sarnia man was arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography.

He now awaits his first court appearance.

Sarnia Police ICE Unit is a partner of Ontario’s Provincial Strategy to protect children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the internet.
