James Dudley

Dudley_2DUDLEY: James Benjamin passed away Friday May 27, 2016 peacefully at Riverview Gardens, Chatham at age of 91 years.

He is the son of the late Willis & Rose Dudley. He is predeceased by his wife Hilda (Robbins) Dudley. He is survived by his loving children: James & Judy, Diane, Linda, Robin & Janice Dudley, sister Dora Isaac, sisters-in-law Yvonne Robbins and Gwen Robinson. He was a proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. James is predeceased by his children William, Paul, Alice (Newby), son-in-law Duane Newby, sisters Verna, Doris, Anna-Mae, Francis and Vera; brothers Ivan, Stan and Harold.

During his lifetime, Jim worked in farming, highway construction, and retired from Navistar International in 1989. Jim was a lifelong member and former trustee of Union Baptist Church, Dresden. He was a member of St. John’s Lodge No. 9 and Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Ontario & Jurisdiction.

Jim had a passion for his family, church, travelling and good food.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice, Canadian Diabetes Camp Program or ARMBA Sunday School Auxillary Camp would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff of Caleb Village, Eden Villa and Riverview Gardens for the care and kindness provided for Dad.

Visitors will be received at the Union Baptist Church, Union Line, Dresden, Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. St. John’s Masonic Lodge #9, Chatham will conduct a service at the church Monday at 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be conducted from the Union Baptist Church on Tuesday May 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Albert Lambkin officiating. Interment in Dresden Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. DeBurger Funeral Home, Dresden. Online donations and condolences may be left at www.deburgerfuneralhome.com.
