Annual parade kicks off Thamesville Threshing Fest

The ‘longest parade in Southwestern Ontario’ will kick-start a weekend of festivities in Thamesville this coming weekend.

The Thamesville Threshing Fest parade will start at Ferguson Park and wind through town, going along Anne St., Lemuel St. and Main St. and ending up back at the park.

“It is approximately one hour to one and a half hours long. It is the longest parade in Southwestern Ontario,” Thameville Threshing Festival organizers say.

“It’s a great mix of local business floats, organizations, classic cars, local dignitaries, bands and farm equipment.”

Organizers are accepting entries up to the day of the event and those interested can call Cindy at 519-360-5356.

The 41st annual Threshing Festival will be held on Friday June 24 and Saturday, June 25.

6:30 p.m. Parade – line up begins at the park

6:30 p.m. Midway & Vendors

8:00 p.m. Beer Garden / Food Booths open

9:00 p.m. Face for Radio on stage in the pavilion

Saturday

8:00 a.m. Sertoma Car Show and Shine

9:00 a.m. Children’s Craft Contest Display

9:30 a.m. Baby Contest in the Pavilion

10:30 a.m. Frog Jumping Contest

11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Lambton County Mini Pullers

12:00 p.m. Midway and Beer Gardens open

12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Tina Pumfrey on stage in the pavilion

1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Free Swim – sponsored by Sertoma
