Summer is a perfect time for tree maintenance

Summer time is a good time to crack down on the maintenance for your trees.

Greg Pilecki, owner of CK Tree Care, said taking out dead wood is a good idea.

“The trees is in full leaf so it is easy to recognize the dead wood and to take it out, we can see it,” Pilecki told the Sydenham Current.

“It will prepare for the winter months when the ice can really take out the dead wood and storms can take out the dead wood, which can cause substantial damage. It is a good idea to trim trees that are rubbing against the houses or buildings and take care of them because that too can cause damage over the long and short run.”

Pilecki said it is a good time to be on people’s properties because the ground is dry.

“That’s nice to be able to get to those hard to get to spots that you can’t get to in the wet seasons or when there is snow on the ground,” he said.

“So summer is an ideal time to get the hard to reach trees in the yard where people don’t want heavy equipment when it is soft. The ground is really hard right now so it’s an ideal time to get those tree projects out of the way that are in the middle of the yard. Minimal damage if any at all. It’s our goal not to damage any property amongst the trees.”

CK Tree Care is fully ensured, and WSIB, MOL compliant.
