During the Christmas holidays 11 swimmers from the WDSS swim team have the opportunity to go to Hawaii.

During their time there they will be training daily with coaches from Hawaii and then competing in a swim meet.

To help off set their costs the group is doing a calendar fundraiser.

The cost is $20 and there are daily draws everyday for the months beginning September 1 until the end of November.

“They are selling calendars and with the money they get from fundraising they are going to Hawaii,” said Michelle Bratt, a parent of one of the swimmers.

“While they are there they get to swim in a swim competition but also going to be training with coaches from Hawaii. On top of that too they are going to do some other things. They are going to Pearl Harbour and going to see professional surfers. They are just doing a bunch of different stuff while there.”

If you win, your ticket is put back in for further chances to win more.

If you would like a calendar you can call 519-627-7693 and ask for Michelle.

The group will be selling calendars during WallyFest in Wallaceburg.

They will also have the Tropical Chill slushy truck booked for the occasion.

Another fundraiser they have coming up is an Indian taco dinner, taking place on August 27 at the Wallaceburg Legion from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
