3rd annual film festival coming to Thamesville

CLIFF-005

This fall, Chatham-Kent will be hosting the third edition of CLIFF, The Christian Life International Film Festival, bringing in our region the world wide circuit of the international film festivals. Filmmakers from more than 100 countries submitted their productions to be screened right here, in our community, specifically in Thamesville.

Florin Marksteiner, the Festival Director tells us: “The main purpose of the Festival is to include Chatham-Kent on the film industry map, to boost the community economy and the touristy potential. Beside the economic and social impact, we hope to be able to bring powerful players in the film industry to use our local resources in their productions.”

CLIFF – The Christian Life International Film Festival is a festival that touches and teaches the audience, a festival that drives creators to produce clean meaningful films and brings people closer together. “Last edition we had guests coming from Ohio, Michigan, Virginia and even California and all of them enjoyed being here, walking around the town and getting to know the locals” says Marksteiner.

The festival director told us that this edition they introduce Day Camp for children 12 years and younger so the families can come and enjoy the films in a more relaxed fashion. The children will have free admission. Everyone will receive an event wristband so they can come and go as they please during the event. Mr. Marksteiner says that “Being a two day event we don’t expect for the audience to be glued to the chairs and be with us for the full length of the festival, but they might do so because the films are so good. A fun component of the event is the fact that the audience can opt in to participate in the judging process.”

This year the festival is bringing a guest film: “Adrenaline” that will play at 8PM on Sunday, just before the Awards Ceremony. About “Adrenaline”: Driven to gain everything the world can give him, a drag racer’s life comes to a screeching halt when he realizes that not all races end at the finish line.

The Festival is a joint venture between Productionmark, local film Production Company from Thamesville, 12 Disciples, a film production group that moves the masses with their films and Thamesville United Church, an artistic hub in the region with a long tradition of bringing great events to the Chatham-Kent audience.

Mark your calendar: 24-25th of September in Thamesville, Ontario. The tickets are only $15 for 2 days of film and they can be found on the festival’s website or at the door at the same price.
