Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is pleased to announce the addition of a new full-time Obstetrician / Gynaecologist to its Women and Children’s Program, Dr. Charles Hamm.

Dr. Hamm completed his residency at Dalhousie University.

Dr. Hamm practiced full time in Kentville, Nova Scotia for nine years before moving to Ontario where he worked in St. Thomas for a year before coming to Chatham-Kent.

He was the Section Chair and Chief, as well as a board member for Doctors of Nova Scotia.

Dr. Hamm specializes in pelvic floor reconstruction, infertility, and minimally invasive gynaecologic surgery including operative hysteroscopy and urogynaecology.

Dr. Hamm is an avid horseman and sailor.

He is married and has twin daughters who are both attending University in the fall.

Dr. Neerja Sharma, Medical Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology said, “We are excited to welcome Dr. Hamm to our group. He brings a lot of great experience with him. We wish him all the best.”

Last year, CKHA officially launched its refurbished Women and Children’s Program – offering care across the continuum, from labour and delivery, to paediatrics to women’s health.

The newly designed space fosters an integrated approach to care and allows providers to more easily and quickly flow through the space. The new look of the unit features a design of birds and trees in vibrant colours and different sizes.

Together, they reflect an inclusive space that evokes nurturing and caring for individuals who range in age and families.

The newly developed space means CKHA’s team can continue to deliver high quality patient care, in a family-friendly environment close to home.
