Wallaceburg is set to receive a blast of Celtic energy, as The Mudmen are scheduled to play The Moose Lodge next month.

The five-piece band, which features bagpipe playing from brothers Robby and Sandy Campbell, will perform on Saturday, September 10 at the Wallaceburg hall.

“We are trying to do a new venue there,” said Robby Campbell.

“We played the WAMBO in Wallaceburg and we have done the Jeanne Gordon Theatre there. The nice people at the Moose Lodge were talking about raising some money for the Moose Lodge and it’s a good cause. We are going to have a different crowd this time. Should be good.”

Tickets are $20 for the show and the doors open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8 p.m.

“It’s always a fun night with The Mudmen,” Campbell said.

“We are a family friendly bunch of guys with high spirited Celtic music, so we will get you up dancing, some jokes, some sad songs, a couple beers and it will be a good night,” he said.

Campbell said the Wallaceburg crowd might be in store for some new material from The Mudmen.

“We are working on a new album right now and we said if time keeps flying by as fast as it does, then we have good intentions of getting together and actually jamming the songs,” he said.

“We have got a lot written. You never know, we might surprise you with a few new ones.”

Campbell said many fan favourites will be played at The Moose as well.

“We have got eight albums now so we have got a nice variety and some of the east coast stuff like ‘Patty Murphy’ never fails and you get them out dancing. Everyone knows that song so that will be in the set list for sure.”

Campbell said the band will be available to take photos with their fans at the show as well.

“We say we always need to meet the fans and take pictures,” he said.

“I once said if we any nicer to our fans, they would be living with us. If anyone wants a picture we are very approachable. You can find us before, in the break or afterwards for sure.”

The band will also have a large booth with merchandise available: t-shirts, CD’s, etc.

“It should be a good night,” Campbell said.
