Kenneth Thomas VanDellen, a life-long resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at the age of 80.
Son of the late Jacob and Gladys VanDellen. Beloved husband of Norma (Lane) for 58 years. Loving father of Todd VanDellen, Kelly VanDellen (Bill Poissant) and the late Kristin “Chopper” VanDellen (2003) and Kevin VanDellen (2014) and father-in-law of Melissa McCarter (Jim). Proud Papa of Zachary, Kyra, Mason, Megan, Keeley, Jessie, Josie and Julia. Dear brother of Sandra Groome (Al), Margie Mills (Richard Woudwyk) and the late Fred (surviving spouse Gladys) and Frank (Diane). Brother-in-law of the late Bob and Priscilla Lane. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.
Ken’s passion for life was his family and farming. His sense of humour brought a smile to anyone who knew him.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Wednesday from 7-9 PM. And Thursday, September 15, 2016, from 10 AM until time of funeral service in the chapel at 11 AM. Interment at Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
His legacy of farming and community can be expressed through donations to the Salvation Army Food Bank or Zion United Church, Tupperville and may be left at the funeral home. 519.627.3231.
