Morning Coffee – By Aaron Hall
My blood began to boil last night after I learned about a poor dog that was tossed out of a moving van near Wallaceburg.
Susan Arends, who runs the Wallaceburg Animal Shelter, sent us information about a pup that was brought to the shelter in Wallaceburg after being tossed from a moving van on Baseline at the Cemetery Road on Monday, September 5 at around 4 p.m.
Susan said a man named Dennis saw this happen and out of concern for the dog, he stopped to help.
She said after much coaxing, Dennis was able to get the dog in his vehicle and brought him to the shelter.
Even though the dog rolled twice, he has no broken bones or even road rash, Susan said.
If anyone knows this handsome boy or would be interested in adopting him, please call the shelter at 519-627-6722.
Susan said in honour of his hero, they’ve named the dog Dennis.
How could someone do this to an animal?
Unfortunately, it isn’t the first time something like this has happened, and it won’t be the last.
Ironically, we heard about the situation the day I after we wrote about the funding for the new animal shelter in Chatham… a story I featured proudly with a photo of our dog, Millie.
To think someone could take a dog and toss it out of a moving vehicle with the intent of killing it… it’s unfathomable and hard to comprehend.

WOW, would I love to get a hold of this person. I would do the same to him/her. I hope Dennis got a good look at the van and maybe police can figure out who it was. This person needs to learn a lesson!!!!!!! I would have chased the person down that’s for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!
