Maroons join Breast Buddies in Wallaceburg

The Chatham Maroons Jr. ‘B’ Hockey club joined forces with the Breast Buddies dragon boat team in Wallaceburg this week.

10 members of the Maroons joined the Breast Buddies tonight on the Sydenham River in Wallaceburg, which was the final practice session for the Breast Buddies for the season.

The Maroons helped the Breast Buddies afterwards by taking the boat out of the water, power washing the bottom and then lifting it back on to the trailer.

The MAroons wanted to issue a special thanks to Cory Bussing, John Montgomery, Cale Markham, Bobby Harrison, Josh Barraclough, Alec Mackenzie, Jake Reed, Brendan Ritchie, Austin Thompson, Nolan VandenBoorn and also Maroon billet Mom, Christie Trudell-Wilson and her son, Jacob for supporting the Breast Buddies.

Over the years, the Chatham Maroons have raised nearly $10,000, which has been shared by the Breast Buddies and the Canadian Cancer Society.
