Mr. Robert “Gary” McLachlin, a resident of Dresden, passed away on Monday , October 17, 2016 at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, in Chatham, at the age of 78 years.
Gary was born in Bentpath, Ontario and was a son of the late Gordon and Marvelline (Wagner) McLachlin.
Beloved husband of the late Margueritta (VanKruyssen) McLachlin (2015).
Loving father and father-in-law of Karen (Chris) Knox, Kevin (Karen) McLachlin and Sandra (Steve) Hohl.
Dear grandfather of Richard (Tanya), Robert (Jashinta), Kelly, Christopher (Sara), Terrence (Chelsea), Matthew (Maryna), Brian (Janet), John (Brittany), Ashley (Larry), Brittany and Hailey and great grandfather of Alexis, Seth, Morgan, Jada, Blake, Lincoln, Zoey, Evelyn, Artem, Katherine and Thomas.
Kind brother and brother-in-law of Doug (Judith) McLachlin, Harold (Debbie) McLachlin, Elaine Loosemore, Eileen Wagner, and Loretta & Bert Gaudreault.
Predeceased by his brothers Gord Wagner , Manley (the late Shirley) McLachlin and James McLachlin and his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Bill Loosemore and Tina & Floyd Rabideau.
Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 20, 2016 from Holy Family Church, in Wallaceburg, at 12:00 noon.
Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to Chatham-Kent Hospice may be left at the funeral home.
