Thinking about attending college next year? Well St. Clair College is holding an open house at all of their campuses on Saturday, November 19, in order to provide information and answer anyone’s questions.
“This is a time when all hands are on deck as we like to say,” said Ann Hetherington, director of marketing and recruitment. “We have all of our programs who come to the open house that day. All of our faculty, our staff and we provide information for students that are looking to make their next step by coming to college.”
“We will do tours of the campus, our faculty are there to talk about their programs. Student services are available. Our student government attends, Thames Students Inc. are there as well. It’s just a great day for people to come out and explore what they can look forward to in terms of a college education with St. Clair. We do offer information about our continuing education courses but primarily the booth displays and the faculty represent our Full Time programs. ”
The open house will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at all of the St. Clair College campuses, including at the Chatham Campus – located at 1001 Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
“It is a really good time for parents and their students to come, they can ask their questions, understand the various admission requirements for programs they might be looking at and really get a good sense of the campus,” Hetherington said.
“It is an exciting time at St.Clair College in Chatham because there is some expansion going on. Our student government is doing that expansion in their student centre area. So we are under renovations and we are very excited about when it will be all done and services for students come early in the new year.”
Hetherington said checking out their website (http://www.stclaircollege.ca/) is a good idea before attending the open house.
“Our website is extremely accessible,” she said. “At the top of the screen is says ‘Full Time Programs’, hit that link and it will take you to an alphabetical listing of all of our Full Time programs. There is all of the information in terms of admission requirements, the courses that are in each program and a lot of other important information about those particular programs.”
A College Information Program evening is in the works for this week as well.
“This Thursday evening (October 20) is our College Information Program. It does run from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. at our Chatham Campus only,” Hetherington said.
This is an event where all of our programs are there and we do invite parents and students to come into that as well. There will also be other colleges from across the Province that come to this event. So the colleges do travel together and go form community to community to provide that information.”
