The USS Detroit, the fourth Freedom-class littoral combat ship of the United States Navy, made its way along the St. Clair River on Friday, heading past Sombra, Port Lambton and Walpole Island.
At a price tag of $440 million, the ship was built by Maryland-based Lockheed Martin. It was launched and christened on Oct. 18, 2014 and accepted into service on August 12 this year.
Many folks caught a glimpse of the ship coming up the river, including Michele Myers, who captured this beautiful photo.
