Lakers fall to Admirals

The Wallaceburg Lakers couldn’t get into the win column on Wednesday night in Wallaceburg.

The Admirals came to town and beat the Wallaceburg squad 6-2 in Junior ‘C’ Hockey League action.

Josh Oberg and Justin Lindsay scored the goals for Wallaceburg, who are now 0-8-1 on the season.

Trevor Waller picked up two assists in the loss, while Brett Farr also chipped in with a helper.

Max Lozon made 32 saves in a losing effort.

Wallaceburg will be back in action on Sunday, when they head to Petrolia.

Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

Tartans win in junior football

The Wallaceburg Tartans picked up a ‘W’ on Wednesday, October 19, in Lambton-Kent junior boys 12-man ‘AA’ football.

They topped LCCVI 36-7.

Dylan Denys scored two rushing TDs for the first-place Tartans, who are now 4-0 on the season.

Nic Podlacha, Tanner Cole and Josh Klompstra also scored for Wallaceburg.

Brodie Genyn led the defence with eight tackles.

Leafs lose, Seth sits

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith remained a healthy scratch for the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday night.

The Leafs ended up losing to the Winnipeg Jets, by a score of 5-4 in OT.

Toronto will turn around and play in Minnesota on Thursday.
