Seth set to start for Maple Leafs

All fingers are pointing to Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith making his Maple Leafs debut in Toronto tonight.

Multiple media reports are suggesting the recently acquired 23-year-old winger will dawn the blue and white for the first time in game action against the Florida Panthers.

Jr. Tartans shut-out McGregor

The Wallaceburg Tartans won big on Wednesday, beating the McGregor Panthers 48-0.

Brodie Genyn had two TDs (one rushing and one off an interception), while Dylan Denys, Dylan Hiltz, Nic Podlacha and Josh Klompstra all scored rushing touchdowns.

D.J. Williams caught a TD pass from Tanner Cole.

The Tartans are undefeated so far this season (5-0) and are in first place in the league.

They’ll face the second place Lambton Central (3-2) team on Tuesday in their last game of the regular season.

Cardinals drop two in Jr. volleyball

The Lambton-Kent Cardinals dropped two games, and split another in junior boys volleyball action on Wednesday.

Lakers lose to Admirals

The Wallaceburg Lakers couldn’t make it two wins in a row on Wednesday night, as they fell at home to the Amherstburg Admirals 5-2.

Jacob Vancoillie and Trevor Waller scored the Wallaceburg goals.

Justin Lindsay added an assist.

Zach Lindley made 46 saves in a losing effort.

Wallaceburg falls to 1-9-1 on the season, last in the Dobbs Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League Western Conference.

The Lakers will be back in action on Friday night in Lakeshore.

Puck drops at 7 p.m.

Lakers trade their Captain

Wallaceburg traded their captain Colton Coates to the Lakeshore Canadiens on Friday.

The 20-year-old, 6’8 defender will be heading home as he’s from Belle River.

The Lakers received cash in return in the deal.
