Griffith suiting up against Leafs

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith is expected suit up against his former club tonight in Toronto.

Griffith’s new team, the Florida Panthers, will visit the Air Canada Centre to battle the young Leafs squad.

The 23-year old made his Maple Leafs debut in Florida’s last visit to Toronto on Oct. 27.

He would only go on to play twice more with Toronto before being placed on waivers.

Florida quickly scooped up the former London Knights star, and he quickly contributed with his new club in his debut on Tuesday.He picked up an assist in a 4-3 OT win in Montreal.

Griffith has recorded one assist in three career games against the Leafs.

Puck drops tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Lakers get bitten by Sharks

The Wallaceburg Lakers fell to the Wheatley Sharks on Wednesday night at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.

The Sharks nipped the Lakers 8-6.

Brayden Kettlewell has 2 goals and 1 assist to lead the Lakers, who fell to 1-16-1 on the season with the loss.

Alec Segers had 1 goal and 2 assist for Wallaceburg, while Dale McMaster, Joel Taylor and Garret Wojchicki each chipped in with goals.

Zach Lindley made 32 saves in the loss.

A total of 240 people were in attendance for the game.

Wallaceburg will look for redemption against the Sharks, when they head to Wheatley on Saturday night.

Puck drops at 7 p.m.
