Mary French

b5e67fa0-b84f-4cbf-abe8-41acccabbbdbFrench: Mary Margaret “Marg” a resident of Chatham and formerly of Thamesville, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Friday, November 25, 2016 at the age of 92.

Born in Chatham daughter of the late Phillip Joseph and Madeline Grace (Tiffin) Rose. Marg was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.# 367 Thamesville Ladies Auxiliary, and carried a flag in the Legion procession on Remembrance Day for many years and was active in Legion darts and bowling functions.

She was an avid sports fan cheering for the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. Marg played in a band with her brother playing old time music in many venues. She was a member of the Active Lifestyles Centre, Chatham, the Blenheim Seniors Centre and enjoyed, playing euchre, crocheting and always lived life to the fullest.

Beloved wife of the late Beverley C. French (2012). Loving mother of Gary French (Esther) of Chatham, Janet Martin of Dresden, and Judy French of St. Catharines. Loving grandmother of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by her son Tom French, a son-in-law Fred Martin, and her brother Jack Rose.

The French family will receive family and friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM.

Interment Mayhew-Mt.Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville. Donations (by cheque) to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the War Amps would be appreciated by the family.
