The Chatham-Kent Police Service is currently investigating a missing person report from Sunday night.

Police officials say a 66-year-old resident of Chatham-Kent appears to have gone looking for his dog last night and may have slipped into the Thames River.

“Our search efforts are focused along the Thames River at this time to attempt to locate him,” stated Staff Sergeant Mike Domony in a media release.

“At the request of the family we are not releasing any names in regard to this investigation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this missing person.”

Reports say emergency crews were at the scene last night at the Thames River off Jacob Road, which is near Prairie Siding.

Domony said the Chatham-Kent Police Service will update this story when more information is available.
