Teen drives car through a house in Sarnia

Charges are expected after a teen drove a car into a house in Sarnia.

Sarnia Police official say at approximately 2:30 a.m., on Monday, December 5, a 16-year-old male took the car keys to his parents 2016 Dodge Challenger, without their permission, and left the residence with the vehicle.

The parents had heard the vehicle leave the family home and called the police immediately.

The parents also came to realize that their son had taken the car.

A short time later the Dodge Challenger was observed by a motorist driving east bound on Cathcart Boulevard and across Modeland Road.

The vehicle then proceeded across the front lawn of a residence, skimming by trees, and then driving through the brick wall located at the front of the house.

The vehicle then drove through the residence and ended up on the back patio.

Luckily no one was at home at the time of the incident.

The residence sustained significant damage and is being assessed for structural integrity.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries but remains in hospital under observation.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident and do expect charges to be laid.
