Lakers fall, Tartans win in curling, Cardinals win in volleyball

Lakers lose to Mooretown

In Junior ‘C’ hockey action, the Wallaceburg Lakers lost their 15th straight game, losing a close one to the Mooretown Flags 3-2.

The Flags out to a 3-0 lead after two periods, before the Lakers started mounting a comeback in the third.

Wallaceburg got goals from Trevor Waller and Alec Segers, but that would be as close as they would get.

George Hill had another solid night between the pipes for Wallaceburg, stopping 39 of 42 shots he faced.

The Lakers remain in last place in the Stobbs Division with a 1-23-2 record.

The annual Treddy Bear Toss was held during the game. Proceeds went to the local Salvation Army and the St. Vincent de Paul.

They will host Amhertsburg in their game on Wednesday, December 14.

Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

Cards win in junior girls volleyball

The Lambton-Kent Cardinals junior girls volleyball team had a successful evening in ‘A/AA’ LKSSAA action.

Th Dresden club finished with 10 wins, against only two losses.

Tartans top UCC in girls and boys curling

The Wallaceburg Tartans swept the UCC Lancers on Wednesday night in LKSSAA varsity curling action.

The Tartan girls beat the UCC #1 squad by a score of 7-1.

In boys play, the Tartans beat the UCC #1 team 5-1.
