The search for a missing man outside of Chatham had ended on a sad note.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say yesterday, officers from the Chatham-Kent Police Marine Unit and OPP Dive Team continued their search efforts in the Thames River.
Around 2:30 p.m. officers recovered the body of Michael Michiels, 66 years, of Riverview Line who was reported missing Sunday night.
Today, a post-mortem examination was conducted at the London Health Sciences Centre and his death has been deemed not suspicious.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank residents in the area who provided assistance to our officers this week and we offer our continued thoughts and prayers to the family.
